Dawnstar streaks through the sky, her wings spread wide, a laser rifle poised in her hands as she strikes at the encroaching ships, swerving at their retaliatory fire.
"This is war, Rip Hunter. We swore to fight to the bitter end, and we will. But I have not yet abandoned hope."
The Thunderbolt's able to get a goodly number of the ships, but hardly all of them. Still, it makes a serious dent. But more seem ot be appearing all the time, and at least one seems have targeted the source of the attack, opening fire on Jakeem.
The force beam, however, is intercepted by a a large hunk of space junk, manipulated into place by the gravity-defying powers of Moon Maiden.
Obsidian doesn't do well in space. All sorts of light, sure, but nothing there to create shadow.
Which means for him to be able to do anything? He's going pure Shadowlands. Opening portals. Unleashing all he's got.
It's still frightening. He's worried about 'going primal,' as Shade put it. About doing that whole "rarr kill everyone" thing again.
But he won't let it happen. No. He's sane. He's good. He's got this.
A blackness darker than the vacuum itself begins to seep into existence, moving to devour and disintegrate important parts of the ships. He doesn't have the power to dematerialize every ship completely. But he can certainly start with weapon systems, or the parts that look to be engines.
Shame there's practically infinitely more still fully functional.
Obsidian's power neutralizes some of the ships, and Firebrand -- right on his flank -- lays down fire that devestates others.
Briefly, she wonders how things are burning in space, how they're able to function at all ... but the golden light coming form all angles answers her questions.

And then it's back to the battle, covering Hawkgirl's back as they smashed and crushed the bad guys in an attempt to get to Degaton.

"T-bolt, I want you to shrink all of Degaton's starships to the size of this pen."
