Hex is quick to respond - always is, always was. In his trade, it doesn't do to let much of anything shock you.
However, in this case, his first act is diving for cover and rolling, then moving towards one of the buildings at high speed. Maybe seeking better cover from the death ray or somesuch.

Tyler is fast on his feet, leaping to the front of a nearby store - he tears loose one of the stout oak beams supporting the tin awning over the entrance, and hurls it like a javelin towards the mechanical assailant.

The new human is unexpected and does not register with the machine at first. It's focus is on on the other metal man. It shatters the javelin, sending splinters and beams everywhere, some on fire.

A 3 fingered hand sweeps widely at Hourman.
