It's a day for giving ties, lawn equipment, and handheld power tools. It's a day for picnics, backyard cookouts, and afternoon naps.

It's Father's Day.

Most of the time when she visits a cemetery, she goes in uniform, though she doesn't always wear the fishnets. But not today. Today she wears civvies and keeps her hair dark.

She makes her way across the grass to the tombstone engraved LARRY LANCE, and lays a dozen sunflowers against the polished granite. "Hi, Dad. Happy Father's Day."

On Titans Island, Koriand'r of the House of And'r stands before the memorial to her parents, murmuring the traditional offering to X'hal, that her father not be forgotten. At the end of the ritual, she adds, "I forgive you. May we meet again at the table of our ancestors."
