They do this a few times a year. Normal citizens - the unenlightened - in all cities that there is a church dedicated to the wisdom of Brother Blood, and even some which don't, get their doors knocked on -

Well before noon.

obsidian, scarecrow, kathy duquesne, vixen, detective chimp, flash jay garrick, max lord, church of blood, caleb zukov, wonder girl, thessaly, manhunter, commune, plastic man, merlynne, damon matthews, flash wally west, ambush bug, hotshot, martian manhunter

Mari's moved to Metropolis for awhile. She likes New York, but there's something about Metropolis that just speaks to her more, in spite of her history with the former city.

She's lounging in her penthouse apartment in New Troy, laying in bed, half-awake and half-asleep, but mostly tired. Fashion week in London was harsh, and she really wants her rest.

So she's more than annoyed when there's a knock on her door early Saturday morning, only a few hours after she's flown back in from being away for two weeks.

Two fresh faced teens are there in black and red clothing. No cloaks. Too scary. They carry Bibles and the red covered "Book of Blood: Testament to Cleansing."

"Good morning, ma'am. Can we talk to you today about a matter of importance to you and those you love?"

Mari looks the boys up and down, an eyebrow raised. She's dressed in a silk robe that barely covers up a very skimpy negligee. It was a gift from a famous lingerie designer.

"I'm not buying Boy Scout cookies."

The boy doesn't oogle. He appreciates a little, but doesn't oogle. The girl looks away.

Yes, Brother Blood can "cure," you of homosexuality. Why do you ask?

"We're not selling anything," she contents (not looking).

"We're here to talk to you about the miracles of Jesus happening right now on this Earth!" The boy is the perky sort.

Who is knocking before her morning coffee?

"Hi, we're here to talk to you about a matter -"

Helena Sandsmark cuts them off with a bleary smirk.

"Honey!" She calls out. "It's for you."

Cassie sits up from her bed, pushing her blonde hair out of her eyes.

She glances at the clock and scowls. She's not supposed to meet Cissie for another couple of hours.

I swear to Hera...okay...not Hera...I swear to Rhea that I'm going to kill that female.

She hops out of bed, pulling her hair into a haphazard ponytail and tugging down her camisole as she pads down the stairs of their home.

She yawns and moves past Helena - who's smirking quite pleasantly - and raises an eyebrow at the teens standing in front of your door.

"There's not some school project that I'm forgetting is there?"

Helena merely points at the people with the Bibles and Books of Blood in their hands. Their faces light up at seeing a fellow youth being passed to them. The Church appreciated the young more than almost all others.

No. They don't recognize her. The Wonder Women would have to be perceived as capable of having bad hair days.

"No," they answer eagerly. "Far more important."

Helena looks back. "I'm making some coffee."

Cassie stares at her mother's retreating figure before turning back to the teens.

"Look, if this is about a fan club, I've gotta tell you that I'm not too comfortable with them, and that..." she trails off. "Are those...Bibles?"

What happens to intruders at Roxy's door involves a trap door, a set of '60's style loungers, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," and may not be suitable for comics code...

"Sure! Come on in. 'Course, I'm a Subgenius - at least, that's what they tell me - and Cheeks is a Rastafarian, but we can swap stories!"
