In the still of the night
It is the quiet after the battle. They have fought and won...not without losses and injuries...and celebrated. And now comes the quiet times when you can hear the voices in your heart and you wonder.
When Diana had first appeared the press (and Mindy Mayer) had dubbed her as 'Wonder Woman'. Sometimes it was appropriate, but in a different meaning of the word. She wondered over what might have been done differently, over her role in things and what was to come in the future.
Her mother had been the same way, always after a battle with the doorway Hyppolyta would stay and attend the healings and the feast but then she would retreat to be on her own. As a young girl Diana had not understood why she would need to be alone, as a woman she found herself doing the same thing.
Diana is not much of one to brood though, and there are still duties to be done and plans to be made for the future so they do not find themselves at such straits again.
And there is a friend she would like to speak to before she begins.
