This is an excellent question. The Permian is a period in the geologic time scale, and organisms create reefs. The reef we studied is Permian age, which is why I refer to it as a Permian reef. Thank you for the question.

The Devils Golf Course is a landmark in Death Valley National Park. It is called Devils Golf Course because it is in a very hot almost inhabitable area; and the salt flats resemble parts of a golf course. I hope my answer will help clarify things.

Lava flows occur when a volcano erupts. Since lava is fluid, it flows that is why it is a lava flow. Well I hope my answer helps you understand why they are flows.

can you tell us more about Breccias.

Sure, Breccias are a type of sedimentary rock. They are similar to conglomerates, but instead of being rounded and unsorted, they are angular and unsorted. They usually form in a large short energy event, which allows movement of many rocks, but it leaves them unsorted. I have a picture of a breccia below; it shows the angularness and the unsorted nature of this sedimentary rock type. You asked an excellent question, and I hope this explanation and the picture will help you understand breccias.
