I'm in Bangkok.
I received her first message saturday morning. She felt bad, had chest pain and asked me to lookup a few words in the dictionary so she could describe it to the doctors. Sunday morning she called me from the Bumrumgrad international hospital in Bangkok. Her doctor had diagnosed a
pulmonary embolism. She had to stay at the hospital and sounded terrible on the phone. I then had a busy day with
band and family, but I was worried. I managed to call her monday morning and it sounded like things got even worse. I felt bad, helpless, I didn't know what I could do. I talked to Andreas and Jörg and decided to get a flight to Bangkok. So at 11am I booked a flight with
LTU, stuffed a few shirts in my backpack and checked in at 1pm. Thousand thanks to Jörg for taking me to the airport.
At the airport I faced little trouble, because they couldn't find my booking in the computer at the check in counter but it worked all out, after all. Also I had to throw away my sun lotion, because I was not allowed to take the 200ml bottle on the plane with my carry on. I didn't check in any bags, so I had no choice but to leave it behind.
About 14 hours later I arrived in Bangkok, Thailand. I took a Taxi to the hospital, and in room 742 I found the happiest face on earth. I'm glad to be here, even if it's just for a few days. The hospital is modern and huge. They have plenty of staff who all speak [some kind of] English and they're not as strict as in German hospitals. No fixed visiting hours, I can even stay over night on the sofa next to her bed. Yes, there is a sofa next to every bed for visitors. In her room, that's 4 beds, 4 sofas, 4 TVs, 4 phones,... great. :)

I'll be back friday evening, and from then on will try to catch up with my thesis, madly.
Oh, btw: I love hospitals with wireless Lan :)
