Alternative: No Casino Capitalism. => Don't permit short-term "investments".
The problem with current stock markets is, they're like huge casinos. Making money by trading stock is mostly based on luck and as with most games there's some additional kick because traders get the feeling they're able to influence the profit by clever trading. That's about the same feeling I have when playing Blackjack in a casino. There's little strategy and lots of luck involved. Of course it feels the other way around. Only, in stock markets you're not just gambling with money, you're gambling with people's lifes. That of course was not the intention when the markets were created but that's what it has become and it's worth rethinking the system.
