I feel like almost every month in 2020 is one I'm glad to see the back end of.
Bedbug PTSD is a legit thing. I got bit at work last year for a few months (took a while to find the person who was bringing them in) and it was horrifying. I lived in fear that I'd bring them home. My apartment was checked and cleared by a professional and I spent a lot on preventative measures (covers for mattress and pillows, all kinds of sprays and that diatomaceous earth stuff which I put on everything. I did so much laundry and lived out of sealed bags and bins for months and months and still if I get an itch I have a moment of panic.
It's faded a bit over time but I think there's just something very creepy about bugs in your home that come out when you sleep.
