The Missing Keys Tuesday

Jan 12, 2016 12:14

Today is one of those days where life throws a curve at you.

I woke up this morning to get ready to go to work, and discovered that my house keys were nowhere to be found in the house. In something of a panic, thinking I'd lost them somewhere, I looked around the house again, and then called the last person to come to the house at some point yesterday.

My mom had come over, having picked up one of my perscriptions, and then went to check the mailbox to see if there was mail (not realising I'd already done that when I got home from work). Guess who has my house keys? Yep, my mom. And she wasn't at home, she was at the hospital for her 0800 doctor's appointment, so I couldn't stop off and pick them up and then go to work.

Anyway, to make a long story short, I called the office and told them that I'd be working from home today. While my boss was bound to be a little bit peeved, I wasn't about to go to work and leave my house unlocked. The work laptop and I are happily working away at business stuff, and the boss was a bit miffed, but things are copacetic. One thing, of course... I can't go and check the snail mail when the mail delivery person comes.

Back to work.
