Small Anne has had a couple of rough days and nights. She came down with a pretty bad cold--stuffed-up nose, bad phlegmy cough, and just general, all-around irritability. Wednesday night was hell. She and I got maybe 4 or 5 hours of sleep (hardly any of them in a row), and considering she usually averages 10-12, she and I were both kind of zombies

Sorry for Small Anne! Miss E's been stuffed-up the past few days too. It's awful. Be sure to go easy on the nose-bulb though. Sometimes you can keep irritating the nasal passages, even after the cold is on it's way out. I learned that one the hard way.

I honestly think the hardest part of parenting is doing all you can to help a baby who doesn't feel well. It is exhausting and worrisome and just plain hard work. Hang in there. She'll be well soon.

It really is, especially since they can't tell you what's wrong and a lot of it is guesswork. And of course they don't understand what's going on, or why they feel bad and you can't make it better yet.
