I've heard lots of griping from a friend who does racing that the number of people in expensive stock sports cars in the Bay at raceways is disproportionately large compared to the self-modded hobby racers. Is this true? O_O

Great photo. :) No accounting for taste. Rev, that's certainly not true of autocross. The SCCA events can have as many as 300 competitors, and almost all of them have done something to their cars. There's a lot of expensive cars, but a lot more inexpensive and slightly modified cars being campaigned. Lots more modified Hondas and Subarus than Ferraris
