in an Einsteinian context, time and space are the same thing. Sort of like how all three physical dimensions are part of the same thing. Time is the fourth dimension, and it's thought that if you could find a way to safely travel through a wormhole, you might shift position in time as well as space, or possibly even instead of.

That's the kind of thing I'm worried about. What if the whole new "plot" is that Magneto's messed up the space-time continuum, or that it's not really Magneto who's returned, or it's Magneto from another time/space who's returned....blah.

if one needs a wormhole to travel out of the plot corner into which one has painted oneself, I figure that's rather a bad sign.

Hee! Yeah, I'm not really sure why Magneto's powers were quite suddenly Dangerous and Wormhole Creating. Or if Plot Device News Kid is going to be around much longer now that he's served his purpose to broadcast instant news to Erik that made him go crazy with grief - or whatever it was that actually happened.

If they'd just allowed us to write ( ... )

I know. I ... *frets*

There's so much charmingness here, but I am seized with the sinking feeling that Magneto is about to go evil again. As happens, but I had hoped we'd get more than eight issues of him being reasonable and sane. And I'm afraid that if he leaves the team, there won't be much reason to keep reading Excalibur -- I'm not particularly invested in any of the kids, although watching Charles in commando mode is entertaining.

I keep hearing vague rumors of this being the lead-up to some kind of reality-warping Big Event, but ... *shrug* I don't really care about the fate of the Marvel Universe; I just want more Charles/Erik snarkiness. *is petty about her OTP*

Why, oh, why can't he stay sane and bond with Charles in friendly/brotherly ways for just a little longer? I'm holding out hope that Charles will come to the rescue and the next issue will be taken up entirely by Charles tending to Erik's mental well-being through some complicated and very romantic mind-sharing. I don't think it's going to happen.

Oh no. That does not sound good at all. That does not sound like it's going to be a Charles/Erik plotline in any way at all. They are all I'm reading for - so unless the reality-warp warps us into some sort of alternate timeline where Charles and Erik never split up and they're both running the school and leading the X-men, well....I don't know, anything else is going to have to be a pretty big sell or they're going to lose me.
