OKAY so Gerard is like a big name painter, okay, and he's in TROUBLE somehow and is like being extorted for his paintings or something because of some shit that went down in the past *handwave handwave* and so he goes to Peter and Neal because he's heard that they've got the best art forger out there working with the FBI and he's like if I don't give them my paintings they're gonna kill me and my FAMILY and so they're like GREAT we're going to have Neal paint fakes and like use this special new tracking device that literally is IN THE PAINT or some shit, and so they do and Neal spends LOTS OF TIME PAINTING WITH GERARD and it's just like this mass of art porn, and Peter spends a lot of time watching and sort of glowering and Frank is off in the corner writing his novel and sort of glowering and Gerard is TOTALLY OBLIVIOUS to the havoc they're causing but of course Neal is FULLY AWARE of the game he's playing
