I wish that this show, which does so many other things right, would not have fallen for the trap of the villainous, tragic gay character. (And again, with Gaeta. Fascinating character arc - and yet, tell us he's gay, have him make increasingly wrong choices, and then kill him? No.)

Yeah, that. Do the writers not notice that all of their gay characters end up posing a threat to the survival of the species and must be killed? Are they seriously being unsubtle like that?

i am more in love with this show than i have been with pretty much any other ever, which is why i am so FURIOUS with the fuckwadity when it comes to gay characters. is it even remotely possibly that they don't notice what they've done? even if they'd only made them some-degree-of-evil, that would be problematic. if they'd just killed them off, that would be problematic. but both? FUCK THEM.

and yet, i will be in front of my tv tonight, for sure.
