Fic: The Descent of Man, Pt. 4a

The conclusion of my first foray into Sherlock fic - and bring on the crackiness! Believe me, the crackiest elements come directly from the original ACD story this is based on, as you will have guessed ages ago if you are familiar with the original stories. If not, check out the ACD story The Creeping Man, and be ( Read more... )

This: “Fine,” he sighed. “Bring that very, very convincing gun-shaped soap-on-a-rope you keep hidden in the bottom of your underwear drawer.”

made me laugh and nearly choke on my lunch!

“Why would you be going through my underwear drawer?” I asked, dumbfounded.

“John,” he replied, “once again you’re asking yourself the wrong question. Knowing what you know about me, the question you should be asking yourself is why wouldn’t I be going through your underwear drawer?”

it's funny because it's true

XD Thanks! Cumberbatch!Sherlock is very Doctor-like, isn't he? But without the conscience... I might be coming around the point of view of those who say he'd make a good Master.

It would be great fun to watch him play against Eleven... except, I think they might be a bit too close for it to work (or maybe just close enough for it to work?) I could pretty easily hear Eleven delivering most of his lines in this (and in the actual TV ministries for that matter. Especially the bit where he shrieked "This is Christmas!!" I was just like... O_o did Moffat get his drafts mixed up?)

Yeah...I think there was a bit of, erm, cross-pollination there, wasn't there? I think the dark-counterparts way of doing the Doctor and Master is an interesting one...I'm reminded of the way in Sound of Drums Simm seemed at times to be deliberately, yet subtly, imitating some of Tennant's mannerisms and intonations. I could see Cumberbatch playing the Master as Eleven's colder, more controlled alter ego...that could work...
