...2014 is nearly 23 hours old and it's been okay so far. I caught up on a lot of sleep this morning; my team won in the football; new Sherlock was preposterous, but just the right kind of preposterous I think. Back to the daily grind tomorrow, but only two days before the weekend

Regarding Sherlock: I still think the Teslecta was involved :-)

(also, it seems that the interior of the Tube car didn't match its exterior. Obviously a TARDIS, then).

More likely than any of the theories in the actual episode, I feel (and I have to admire the way Gatiss/Moffat/gang thoroughly mocked the various online fan-theories while refusing to give a 100 percent straight answer of their own - because clearly no "true" solution would ever live up to the hype and speculation on the forums).

I also understand some people were getting quite irate that Sherlock's and John's travels in the episode completely failed to match up to rl Tube stations and lines. I've only ever been on the Tube about two-three times in my life and those were probably enough, and I'm far too used by now to any Hollywood film set in Victorian or other period settings kludging together bits and pieces of Liverpool's historical city centre and docks more or less at random for street scenes etc. to actually be bothered about that kind of thing any more. ;)

Anyway, it's been okay. I've done zero stuff of use so far, though. :P

ETA: *looks at date* D'oh! Got it completely mixed up. I certainly hope this isn't an indicator of how my brain will work this year.
