Just to let all of you know what it is.
About an hour or two ago I received a PM from an online acquaintance on Dreamwidth informing me that they had seen that my Livejournal account and the who_at_50 comm I manage on LJ were both suspended. I was not the only one, apparently - members of my acquaintance's flist were also affected.
True enough, they were suspended - complete with a little graphic of a goat in a pirate hat and eyepatch so that I got the message that whatever their reasons for said suspension they were probably my fault. They didn't add "you scumbag", but they may as well have.
So I fired off a couple of not-particularly-civilly-worded queries to the LJ Abuse team asking them what the blue blazes was going on. In the meantime, acquaintance's flister's LJ was reported to be back up and running. Soon enough, mine was too. It turned out that in the course of adding some new anti-spam measures to LJ, the team there had displayed the competence and efficiency for which they are rightly famous and blitzed a load of people's accounts by accident. Good work, Comrades!
Only problem is, as of right now, while my own journal is back and working, the who_at_50 comm is still down. I have fired off further not particularly civil addendums to the previous query which has not yet been closed, so hopefully this will have the desired effect. If it really is dead and gone (thanks, LJ!), I suppose I will have to start it again from scratch. In the meantime, if you are a member of the comm and have anything you want to post there, if possible please could you do it on the Dreamwidth version here:
