Taking Over The Asylum... [SPOILERS!! FOR New Who S7 Ep 1 ASYLUM OF THE DALEKS!]

...would have been a strangely apt title for this story. It was also the title of a long-ago BBC comedy-drama series which I believe provided an early breakthrough role for the young David Tennant. Although I don't think I've ever seen it. I have, however, seen his epic turn around the same time as a transvestite barmaid in Rab C. Nesbitt.

I am ridiculously looking forward to the dinosaurs. And I love that the episode is called that. I can just imagine the writers:

"It's an episode about dinosaurs on a spaceship. What should we call it?"

"How about dinosaurs on a spaceship?"

"Okay!"

Of course... it's probably not going to have nearly so many dinosaurs as all that... and Rory's dad for some reason. I'm hoping for some big reveal about Rory myself (since I've always figured there was more to him to start than meets the eyes, even leaving aside all that plastic Roman stuff).

It does what it says on the tin...

If it turns out to be a story not featuring dinosaurs actually on a spaceship, I'll be...very disappointed. ;D

Rory's dad turns out to be...the Celestial Toymaker?? I too am wondering whether something unexpected might be about to happen in these last few episodes. I know Moffat's said "no story arcs", but...well, see above/ ;D

Indeed. Could've been End of Time worse!

BTW, you should watch Takin' Over the Asylum - it's a very moving and thought-provoking drama (and baby!Tennant is amusingly cute too!).

Well, exactly - with a benchmark like that, a lot of things start looking pretty good, really.

I have heard good things about it from various quarters, so I really should, I agree.

I had no idea Oswin's actress is the Coming New Companion! I liked her very, very much, so I think this will make me happy. :-)
