Abandoned Places - Calera School

Last year when the tornadoes blew us out of the house and on the road, we visited family in central Alabama. Within walking distance of the house was this gem. Constructed in the 1930’s, the Calera School was the combined elementary and secondary school for farming community ( Read more... )

Would so much like to see a stone & brick building renovated and used again. I guess it isn't really in fashion to do that, though... especially when it is not a many storied building and it can be replaced by a Modern cheesy "townhouse" structure.

I don't know if I'd be able to go to a haunted house attraction that was actually held within an abandoned building. I'd be much too on-edge to have fun. Granted, I'm a huge wuss and I haven't been to a haunted house attraction since the time I was six and was so scared that I threw my arms around the legs of the guy playing Jason Vorhees for protection...
