For those who don't know, I play in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). During my time in California, I counted this young woman as my friend. My son fought in and was her Champion (in youth combat). oh, JJ, this is so hard. I don't know the lady, or her knight, but I'm reading back in his posts on her website and he had hope that she would be coming back, especially when the diagnosis was H1N1: he thought that meant it wasn't anything fatal. What a friggin' roller coaster ride.

I'm so sorry for you and for them. Awful, awful, awful.

JJ, I hope it's okay, I posted this info with the links to the SCA East community, as no one else had yet. (I'm not active in the SCA here, but my husband was and I know many people who are. Perhaps they should have posted instead, I don't know.)
