Man of the Week: River Phoenix

For reference sake, I am not including a picture from Stand By Me for any reason except it is the BEST scene in the movie.  It shows the depth of the friendship between Gordie and Chris and remains the most honest thing in the movie.

I loved River Phoenix. His death was so so sad. I loved him as an actor and thought he was a very beautiful man. There are so many of his movies that I loved, I think my faves are My Own Private Idaho, Running on Empty, and I thought he was an amazing young Indiana Jones. Can you believe it that this Halloween will mark the 17th anniversary of his death?

I think I'm a bit too young to actually "feel" it. I mean, I was young when he died and all I knew him from The Last Crusade. But yes, I always thought he was very physically beautiful, especially the face and eyes.
