A slight modification from how I thought this would work. I'm doing this as I watch the movies and not on a weekly basis.

So Prince of Persia was really that bad? Unfortunate. Is Jake at least shirtless for most of the movie?

I didn't enjoy it. And based on the 37% on Rotten Tomatoes, not many other critics did, either. It's loud. It's action-y. It's a lot of people doing things for really no good reason. Lots of jumping and yelling and "beautiful" people playing in front of green screens.

Jake is shirtless for bits and pieces of the movie. I'm not even sure that would have helped.

I wondered why Jake adopted a British accent in the first place? I mean, his character is Persian, not British. Other than that one minor irritant, I quite liked this Flick. My better half, the world's greatest gamer, has written it off before he's seen it because he thinks they cast the wrong actor for the Prince, but I suspect that when I bring the movie home on Tuesday, he'll watch it when I'm at work (but even if he likes it, he'll never admit it.)

No clue on the accent. He's the whitest Persian person I've ever seen.

Ha! Seth is so cute that way! Jake is fine, but he doesn't have that "rugged street kid" look to him as a grown up. He's Jake Gyllenhaal, the guy who snuggled with Heath Ledger a few years ago!

True, though I think he has some range as an actor. I used to think he played the same part in every picture, until I saw him in Jarhead, where is though he played his descent into madness marvelously. Come to think of it, he was pretty special in Donnie Darko and Brokeback too.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I like him as an actor. He just wasn't right for this part. The script didn't help, at least in my book. :)

I need to see Prince of Persia simply because I love the video games, but I knew that movie was doomed the moment Jake Gyllenhaal was cast.

He's just given nothing coherent to do. Just wait until you see it.
