I wish I could be as eloquent and passionate and polite as he is; he expressed everything I feel about Catholicism way better than I ever could. You're ace, Mr. Fry.

Your post title was exactly my response - I have so much love for this man, it's ridiculous. :-)
He is, quite simply, one of the most amazing men in the world. I have such incredible affection and respect for him.
And you know what's best about him? Not only is he so incredibly intelligent when going off, and *right*, and all of that, but....he always manages to say what he says with a manner of love and respect. For people, if not institutions. I nearly clapped out loud, in my library office, when he said he was filled with love - it's true, he really is. The world would be so much worse off without this incredible man.

Oh I know! I feel the same way about everything he said, despite the fact that I grew up Roman Catholic (although I've grown away from it personally - family's still pretty religious.) I respect religion & I get what it means to people, but just how things are in that *specific* institution...
Same here! I was getting annoyed how the woman at the table kept shaking her head or saying 'that's not true' while Stephen had PROOF of what he was talking about it. I cheered when he said that, because I don't think I've ever seen a man so...loving. I mean, he adds people who follow him on twitter. No other celebrity (that I've seen) does it like he does. He doesn't have to do it, but I admire it so much that he does. I'd dread to think of how the world would be if he wasn't around.

It is, isn't it? Man, watching yesterday kinda made my day just a little. I'm lucky enough to know someone who is quite like Stephen Fry - I called him my American Stephen Fry & he told me that was one of the best compliments he's ever received. Stephen is just... I love him. =]
