I've been kind of out of it this week with planning and packing for vacation. Today - home, Tomorrow - Florida! And this challenge was posted just as storms cut out our electricity .... So, here's the late 500 word ficlet that came out of the prompt. Lookit! Hyena!Xander's back!

Not quite as disgusted as he might have wanted others to believe. Oh, she’d been in his head long enough to know what he liked. And he liked this blond bit of danger as much as she did.

*g* That's one line that I couldn't bring myself to cut/modify when I the scene finished at 532 words. And no, Spike really doesn't have a chance.

Oh god, I LOVE this. I love that you use the hyena's point of view. I love the way you handled the hyena's dominance even when Xander normally is very submission. I love how you explained the hyena's dormancy. I love how the hyena has embraced Xander. I love how Spiky Spike is here, and I would love-love-love you if you kept going with this.

I mean...
How is Spike going to handle a toppy hyena in Xander's body?
Will the hyena be out all the time or do a timeshare deal?
What will Xander say to Spike if he gets to come out and play?

Okay, I could go on with questions forever, but I'm stopping here. Just know that I'm really dying to see what comes next.

*blinks* At least I'm not the only one with many questions. I'll give you a teaser that once I finish the seemingly enver-ending To Be Claimed, I will be working on a Hyena!Xander story that's almost entirely from the hyena's perspective. For now, you'll likely see a lot of Hyena!Xander in my drabbles - so you may want to keep your eye open for those because they really do seem to be shaping up as teaser scenes for that dimly futuristic story. Or maybe it will live in drabbles much as Baby!Vamp!Xan does for darkhavens. Keep poking me to finish TBC, and we'll see what happens.

Hee! I think the whole story is one big kink. I mean, you have hyena!Xander, bondage, semi-Dom/sub, pseudo non-con ('cause we all know that Spike is a sexual creature), snarky!Spike, and claiming! *squee!*
