Title: Humans Taste Best
Kibum had always been healthy. When he turned 13 years old, his appetite started to increase. Of course everybody thought this was normal for a growing boy. But then Kibum always complained of being hungry. Sometimes he still feels hungry after eating a lot. Sometimes his stomach hurts because he was too hungry despite having something to eat just 5 minutes ago.
He started to grow weak and become thin. His parents brought him to the doctor who said that Kibum had some psychological problems because they couldn't find anything wrong with Kibum's body. He started having therapy sessions, which he hated because he knew he was not crazy even if people say that denying is the first sign of being crazy but heck, what if the person isn't really crazy in the first place?!?!?!
Somebody found out about his therapy session. It was spread all throughout school that Kibum was mentally unstable or in other words, crazy or psycho. Kibum lost all of his friends except for Sungmin, who chose to maintain their friendship.
Sungmin was always there for Kibum. Sometimes he would share his food with Kibum. Sometimes he would buy some food for Kibum. Sometimes he would massage Kibum's stomach or put a warm compress over it when Kibum starts feeling pain. Sometimes he wouldn't do anything but let Kibum grip on his arm tightly with Kibum's fingernails digging into Sungmin's skin. He knew the pain he felt from Kibum wasn't prboably half of what Kibum was currently going through.
It was in the middle of the night when Kibum started feeling very hungry. He called Sungmin so they could meet up by the park because whenever his parents wouldn't allow him to eat, Sungmin would always give him food anytime, anywhere.
Kibum was about to fall on the ground from feeling too much pain when Sungmin caught him. He hugged Sungmin tightly for support. Kibum found Sungmin's scent to be very good as if it were food. He buried his head somewhere between Sungmin's neck and shoulder. Then Kibum began to wonder if Sungmin would taste as good as he smelled. Hesitantly, he darted out a tongue to lick on Sungmin's skin.
Kibum's hunger was finally satisfied but... Sungmin died.

Since then Kibum knew that he was not normal but he was not crazy either because even crazy people don't eat other people alive.
He attended at Sungmin's funeral. He stared at the jar containing Sungmin's ashes. There was no choice but to burn Sungmin's body or what was left of it. They said a vicious animal had come to attack Sungmin and ate most of his body parts.
They thought that Kibum was probably too shock to cry but the truth is Kibum thought he wasn't deserving enough to cry. Not when he was the one who killed Sungmin. Heck, it would have sounded better if all he did was kill Sungmin but he actually ate Sungmin too. He felt like vomiting at the thought but if he vomits, would that mean vomiting Sungmin out? He suddenly feels sick at the thought of it.

Kibum tried to kill himself a lot of times. Always unsuccessful because somebody would always stop him or save him. A lot of people thought that Kibum as probably in too much depression over Sungmin's death. But the truth is Kibum was just feeling too guilty for Sungmin's death. If it weren't for him, Sungmin wouldn't have died in the first place.
He was finally droppped out of school and moved in the mental hospital. Kibum was being wild and violent as he kept on denying that he was not crazy so he was injected with drugs that had some calming or sleeping effect.
"Kibum, I know you're sad about Sungmin's death but you have to move on. Sungmin would want you to move on. I know he's your only friend and now that he's gone... I can be your friend too." It was Sungmin's older brother named Donghae, who visited Kibum in the mental hospital.
"I killed Sungmin." Kibum never told anybody but Donghae.
As expected, Donghae didn't believe him. "Kibum, some vicious wild animal killed Sungmin. Not you."
"I am that vicious wild animal that killed Sungmin. I don't know how I did it. I just felt very hungry and Sungmin smelled so good so I tried tasting him and..."
"Kibum, stop. Please... just stop." Donghae was getting teary-eyed so Kibum stopped trying to convince him.

It was all over the news that a nurse was died just a bit further from the mental hospital. It was concluded that it was done by a wild animal. At the same time, a patient named Kim Kibum went missing.
Donghae was feeling cold dread as he watched the news and started to believe what Kibum just told him might actually be true.

It was a week later when Kibum contacted Donghae. It was midnight at the park where Sungmin died.
"When you killed Sungmin, did he scream? Did he struggle?" There was no friendly greeting from Donghae. Those questions were immediately asked.
"No. He was... very willing." Kibum didn't want to remember it but he does. "I didn't want him to suffer so I ate his heart first. It's the least I could do since I couldn't control my hunger. I don't know what I am and frankly, I'm scared of myself." He wrapped his arms around himself. "It's better if I just die."
"Then why aren't you dead yet?" Donghae asked coldly.
"My heart had already stopped beating Donghae. Maybe I am dead in a way." Kibum took Donghae's hand and placed it on his chest, where no heartbeat can be felt. "After I ran away from the mental hospital, I already killed myself a lot of times but my body always seem to find a way to revive itself. The only thing that wasn't revived is my heart."

Five years later, Kibum was living normally again... almost. He had taken a new identity and got himself into a college with false high school documents. What isn't normal is that his heart still isn't beating and he kills people for food.
However, Kibum learned how to control his hunger and also chose to eat people who only seem to like doing bad things to the society. Those kind of people taste bad but they're enough to satisfy Kibum's hunger. Besides, he would feel less or not guilty at all when killing those kind of people rather than a tasty innocent virgin.
He and Donghae became friends. It started out really rocky because Donghae had tried to kill him a few times and gave up after a year. At first Kibum felt hurt and betrayed that Donghae wanted to kill him but later on, it became sort of fun like a game that eventually became boring so Donghae stopped.
Two months after Donghae stopped trying to kill Kibum, they went to Sungmin's grave together for the first time.
"Hey, Sungmin! You must be happy that Kibum and I visited you together." Donghae said as he touched Sungmin's thombstone. "I haven't tried to kill him for a while now. In fact, I decided to stop."
"Why?" Kibum asked softly as he walked a few steps and stopped right beside Donghae.
"Because it's gotten boring. You don't seem to die no matter what." Donghae replied. "And maybe... it's time to forgive you."
"I don't deserve to be forgiven."
"Sungmin could have fought back or ran away but he didn't which means that he probably wanted it to happen that way. Like you said, he was very willing." Donghae pulled Kibum into a hug. "I'm sure what Sungmin wanted to do was to take care of you and I'm sure what he wanted me to do was to continue taking care of you."
Kibum hugged back and buried his head on Donghae's chest. He hid his face so Donghae wouldn't be able to see him cry but Donghae felt his shirt getting wet with tears anyway.

They were currently living together in an apartment. It's actually dangerous to live in together because Donghae smelled so good to Kibum that it scared him that he might not be able to control himself. Donghae simply puts all of his faith and trust to Kibum.
"Kibum, what are you doing?" Donghae tensed when Kibum suddenly hugged him from behind using a lot of strength clearly showing that he won't be letting Donghae go anytime soon.
"Are you scared?" Kibum was placing butterfly kisses on Donghae's nape.
"Yes. Please let go, Kibum." Donghae bit his bottom lip to keep himself from moaning when Kibum started sucking on his neck. That actually felt good but Donghae was still scared although he wasn't sure if he was scared that he might be killed and eaten or that his feelings for Kibum would be revealed.
"Do you want to know when humans taste best, Hae?" Kibum whispered, his lips trailing on Donghae's earlobe.
"I don't think I want to know that." Donghae replied nervously. The next thing he knew his back made an impact on the wall. Now, he was facing Kibum.
"Humans taste best when they're a virgin and when they're in love." Kibum placed a hand on Donghae's chest, feeling the fast heartbeat beneath his palm.
Donghae's eyes widened. "Is this part of your plan? Making me fall in love with you so you can have a delicious meal?"
"No." Kibum stepped back from Donghae. "Tempting but no." He left their apartment and didn't come back hours later or the next day.

Two days later, Donghae received a call from Kibum. "Where are you?"
"It's nice to know that you're in love with me."
"That's not an answer to my question!!!"
Kibum chuckled as he could sense Donghae blushing at the other side of the phone. "I think I'm going to go crazy being so close to you all the time and not having any taste."
"You c-can... i-if you want..." Donghae stuttered. He wasn't feeling scared. He was feeling nervous and embarrassed.
"I'm afraid I might lose control."
"I trust you so please come home."
Those words tugged Kibum's heart. Wait... did he just feel his heart beating again? He placed a hand on his chest. It felt foreign to be able to feel his own heart beating again. "Okay, I love you. I'll be home in a few minutes."
