MARKET RESEARCH 2.

So, something a friend of mine came up with last night when we were discussing the possible portfolio was species/food combinations. He likes the idea of foods corresponding to the coloration of whatever animal is snacking on them. A skunk gal eating oreo cookies or an albino rat eating vanillia ice cream, for example ( Read more... )

For question one, I agree with the love of foxes, huskies, and wolves, of course. I also adore bunnies. I tend to like otters, if only 'cause they're "supposed" to be so slinky. And I've been really into big cats lately (tigers and cheetahs in particular - again with that "supposed to be slinky" on the latter.)

As far as your second question, I'm sadly too biased an audience. I like chubby cheesecake stuff quite a lot, but you know I'm probably one of the biggest fans of gluttony and bulging bellies that you're likely to find. ;)

Yeah, you really are the worst person to answer this. Thanks for input! Gives me ideas.

I like the idea of color coded food. Or at least thematically similar.

As far as species go, anything that's "fluffy" as you said, will likely sell well. Skunk, rabbit, cats of various flavors, fox, dog, squirrel. etc..

For personal preferences I kinda fll along the same lines. I'd like to see a skunk (oreos, hot fudge and ice cream, dark and white chocolate), and every chubby folio needs a mouse/rat, since they're kinda the masters of the craft. Other ideas would be a vixen (red velvet cake)

For some other outside the norm ideas:
Calico cat: Neapolitan ice cream!
Otter/ferret - neat to see a normally sleek species all rounded up, though I dunno what they'd eat.

Didn't see your second question, and I can't edit my replies. I like both, but I think I'd be more likely to buy option #1. Though option #2 is nice.. But now I dunno. Heh.

I think I'd probably go one way or the other though, A chunbby cheesecake kind of thing, or the post-thanksgiving food-coma glutt-o-thon. I think they're thematically different enough to keep them separate.

Well... I'd buy something tame, but something too untame... I dunno. I couldn't put it anywhere. That'd be what it'd come down to, for me. So I'd be more likely to /enjoy/ the second one ,but more likely to /buy/ the first one.

That's the gamble. I figure fc is a big con, and if I am gonna sell anything, it'll be there. I am already pandering to a niche market, and I figure that niche market + something they like = easy sales. The question is do I go to the larger market, or the more specialized but smaller market who'll be more likely to buy?

you know I'll happily vote for the 'food-drunk' kind, but you also know I love everything you do... maybe a dozen pics in the folio, half of each kind?

As for species... *Carisa nudges with her hammer* ... skunks, naturally. Bats too. Bunnies, vixens... and this might be odd, but... how about, say, a rhino gal?

I ain't time for that many, only five!

So far, this is my idea: rabbit, rat, fox, skunk, raccoon.

ooh, short short folio then... I don't think I've seen terribly many rats out of you, so I'm interested there... I approve!

I'm helping round it out with an otter, a wolf, a squirrel, a badger, and.. something else, I can't remember right now, but it's written down at home. >_>

Edit: another question! Would going for a more agressively niche position over a more less agressive niche position work better, or a mixture of the two for varitey? I am asking about the difference between 'chubby girls snacking on stuff' vs 'chubby girls and gluttony, rounded tummies and food-drunk' or just a mix? I figure I'll go with a mix, but I'll ask questions first.

It might be thematically pleasing to go from one theme to the other from the front of the folio to the back.
