Do you watch Futurama? They have a great fan-tribute episode:

Pastor of the Star Trek Religious Cult: "And Scotty did beam them to the Klingon ship, where they would be no tribble at all."

The one where the alien Trekkie "collects" the crew was my favorite episode. I bought the season set just for that ep. Then later I bought the other seasons, just to collect the whole set! =D

I know a number of Trekkies that are raging. Strangely they are not people that originally got into it with the original cast, they are people that first came to Star Trek with TNG. They have rage and are throwing themselves.

I loved the movie. It stopped Star Trek from spiraling down to become a Shaker fandom.

that seems random. Why the hell should they care then if they're not fans of the original? It's all ABOUT the original. It's got nothing to do with the Trek they like, so they need to go away.
