I was rewatching season 3 of Babylon 5, and was reminded of how much I adored Marcus Cole and Susan Ivanova as a nearly couple. The weird thing is that they don't, as a pairing, tick my usual boxes. I'm not, as a rule, into big epic love, complete with tragic ending.

But it always gets me, even after all these years...

Oh, I loved Marcus. And I was yelling at the screen when that First One hinted at Susan to not hesitate and that nothing lasts forever, not even love. And of course, she didn't get it. *sobs*

I'm still mad at Straczynski about his death.

(I loved Garibaldi's arc too)

[Cries on shoulder] It's not fair! Practically everyone at the end of season 3 got their 'happy ending' except Ivanova and Marcus - I know things went pear shaped afterwards but still...

Although, I suppose the fact he died before Susan could get her head together, makes the story especially poignant.

Oh boy. I remember watching That Scene with Ivanova and Franklin and just bawling my eyes out. I adored (adore!) those two.

*whistful sigh*. JMS does the tragic characters/plots so perfectly, damnit.

Aaaa, thank god I wasn't such a cry-baby at that time, but Marcus's death still transfixed me((( I'm even afraid of rewatching for fear I would cry.
