Yes, I’ve been very bad over the last few weeks and not posted. I think it’s fair to say February has been a stressful and busy month for me, with lots of RL worries. But I’m still here so that’s good! One nice thing happened this month; my parents came to visit! My mother hates to fly - she’s claustrophobic - so it’s been eight years since she’s returned to Ireland.
I also wanted to say thank you to severely_lupine for my Valentine’s Day glass heart on my profile page (yes, it’s been that long since I’ve posted) and calliopes_pen for my blue dragon. They’re lovely!

Highlander
1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
A search engine! Seriously, that’s how it happened. Sky was doing late night repeats of the earlier series and I caught a couple of episodes and became hooked. They were also airing the last series at the same time, so I was watching both…and then it ended and I wanted to know if there was a new series in the works.
My use of the internet was pretty vanilla at the time - I’d just bought my first computer - so I typed in the word Highlander and found fandom (and fanfiction!) Seriously, it was like a revelation! I basically hoovered my way through the Seventh Dimension Archive and thought to myself ‘hey, I’d love to have a go at that’ and wrote my first fanfic. ‘Hamlet’s Ghost’.
2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I’ve branched out from this fandom since the late nineties, but Highlander is still my first love. I’ll never leave it, and annual events like hlh_shortcuts still fill me with glee!
3. Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc?
Comes A Horseman/Revelations and Forgive us our Tresspasses.
4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
Yes! I write fic, I make icons, I generally act silly in the discussion posts. I love me some fandom :-P
5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
YES!

Doctor Who
1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
I adored this series when I was a kid, so when I heard there was going to be a reboot, I was giddy with excitement. Can I tell you how happy I was when the new series exceeded all my expectations and was as wonderful as it could possible be? First thing I did was join the LJ discussion groups and I was a pretty passive fandom member until Martha came along - and then fic happened!
2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I think I’m in for the long haul, in terms of following the fandom, but I don’t write for this fandom as much as I used to.
3. Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc?
Old Who: City of Death, New Who: The Doctor’s Wife
4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
Yes! I write fanfic and commit iconage on occasion.
5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
More people means more fun, but the Who fandom is HUGE, it’s not exactly lacking in membership or diversity!

The Mentalist
1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
Watching the series. I think I was intrigued by Jayne’s character who seemed so cynical yet so accepting of other people’s flaws at the same time.
2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
Well, to be honest, I’m not really in the fandom. I don’t write for it, I don’t follow episode discussions, I just watch the series. So the question is moot.
3. Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc?
The finale of the last series.
4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
No.
5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
If this was season one, I’d say definitely… but now not so much.
