Ok, here are some prelim ideas. Don't worry, I know where each one's plot line would be going.

Manga ideas:

Medieval fantasy (no title yet)

Kiera, a woman and warrior, lives in a land of magic and sorcery. A loner, she fights constantly as a way to escape the pain of her past. One day she accidentally saves the life of a man, a city boy thief (Dante ( Read more... )

Hmm, I like the one with the vampire... Though with Silken Bonds I'm weighing my disinterest in ancient Greece with my like of the phrase "thorough oiled massage every night." Though I want to know about Flowers that Grow in the Shadows just to know what you would get up to in that ^___^

But surely there's a way you can fit ALL these ideas into one story. That would make you EXTRA talented.

PS I know Pock has read your post because she read it out loud to me before I left today. Pock, you are a horrible person, ignoring poor Jenny.

(In truth, we know she must actually be thinking very deeply about which one she likes the very best. When she give her answer, we know it will be EXCELLENT.)

put 'em all together huh? I guess... I could make it, like, the history of a specific family tree, like they do in some romance novels. Like... some members of the family live out ordinary lives (romeo and juliet complex) and their ancestors (silken bonds), but ones on the other side of the family tree don't? Like cherry? Gaaah, I don't know how to meld all these disparate peices together! *whimper* help Nora!
I really like the silken bonds and Flowers that grow in the shadows, but I want to wait until my skill level gets a little higher before I attempt a story line I really really like. I already have the entire script for Romeo and Juliet Complex and Silken Bonds written up (more or less) in roleplay format. I'd just need to convert it with action cues.
So, we had that conversation about yaoi that was explicit but didn't have any real story substance. Do these ones have substance? You'll be my conscience for this project, if I do a yaoi. help?

As if I knew how to write stories. Fitting all these unfitable stories together is where YOUR creative genius will have to come in.

Aww, but you can't tell if something have substance just by hearing the start of the plot. Like 0.00000001% of manga actually sound like they have substance from a plot description. The rest either sound silly or you can't tell one way or the other. But more than that amount are actually decent. Depends on how they execute it. (This is the fancy way of saying I don have no answer.)

well... um... hmm.
I need an example of a story with substance, and a story with uh... not.
Like, the dog boy yaoi was a little whacky, and kind of peiced together haphazardly, but it looked like there could be an okay plot furthur down the line?
I have a hard time knowing what has substance and what doesn't, since pretty much anything amuses me. I have very low standards? Which is probably how I ended up with the last three guys I slept with. Ugh.
Give me some examples to compare substance with?
