You don't really ever get over high-school crushes. Or would that be.. loves?

I think it depends on whether it was a crush... or a love.

What I crush over has definitely changed over the years, but... what makes me fall for someone mostly hasn't.

Even if it *was* just a crush, I think the attraction lingers on, unless the person has somehow morphed into an ogre along the way.

Perhaps the attraction would be even stronger if it remained a crush because the feelings were never acted on!

Hey...did I tell you I had a crush on Rita (yes your senior) for like seven years (she was my primary school classmate)...always go goo goo gaa gaa whenever I see her on CNA nowadays!

no, we never. its a strangle hold that they have over us.
unless its 10 years down the road and they're fat and ugly, then we wonder what we were thinking of! (and its still our fault!) ;P

The attachment level will hinge on whether it remained a crush or it had progressed to something different (though not a relationship).

I think the former will be easy to get over, unless the reason for the crush is extremely rare; otherwise one will just gush over the next person with high levels of that attribute (I was thinking Looks and Charisma for this point).

But I'm known to have weird strong relationships/bonds with people I want to get close to :D

Provided the object of the crush hasn't changed too much, even an idle crush can retain its hold across the chasm of the years..

Considering the type of people I used to hang out back in school with are pretty similar, if one is talking about having a crush on someone cause of superficial looks, you'll kinda can find another similar looking one nearby.

I don't think I had crushes though (if I had it would have been pretty mild), cause I had a pretty hot best friend then :D

It isn't just physical looks for me, personality plays an equally important part in the attraction, so not so fungible la!
