This is fun! Although Ozai is creeping me the hell out :D Happy Zuko is kind of sweet and very huggable. I hope Mai gets to keep this one, she deserves at least a couple of days with a non-whiny boyfriend.

BTW, I distinctly remember another fic that had Mai creating this sort of alternate reality (with Zuko having no scar and being friendly with Ruon-Jian and Chan and such) by making a wish, and I want to read it again but can't find it. You don't happen to know that one, do you?

I originally wrote this for the atla_land AU challenge (without the smut and with a word limit).

I decided to polish it up a) since the word limit really ate the fun, b) cause there needs to be more smut c) "the promise" made me want MaixZuko

I agree, we don't see Mai vulnerable often, but I think she just hides it well. Just because she refuses to show it does not mean it does not affect her, usually quite the opposite.

/Ha, Mai misses the scar. It does give Zuko something.../ Depth XD You'll see.
