Every year I'm surprised when I find that it's time for the calendar to turn from February to March. You'd think I'd be used to it by now, but something about going from the 28th (sometimes 29th) to the 1st is just weird. Here, it became March and the weather instantaneously felt like spring. It was magical.

Hey now, no need to gloat (or flail)! Haven't I suffered enough?! (yes!) Today's low is gonna be 13 degrees, the high.... 31. Only 18 days til spring. ::ponders hibernating::

LOL, we got a shade less than 2" of lake effect snow yesterday and I don't even care because I know it's going to melt later in the week. The knowledge that days are longer and sun is higher in the sky is good enough for me.

But you have it all wrong: see, cold in winter is a given. It will always be extremely cold in winter, that's just the way it is. What really screws things up is the stupid snow getting in everyone's way and making parking a chore. So I'd take an entire winter of temperatures below twenty if it didn't snow more that a few inches, tops. Easy. A winter that's cold and has no snow sounds just fine to me.
