I would go in an instant, because I'm a historian, and I'd want to go back and live some of those events. Yes, I'd be a little scared, but the chance to be able to travel in time would override that for me. Maybe in the end the risk would become too much and I'd leave. But maybe not. ;-)

Yeah, I totally expected that answer from you - I don't imagine there's much, even fear or danger, that would hold you back from actually visiting history after you've devoted so much time to studying it. You come across to me as having a sincere thirst for knowledge and understanding...and I suppose that usually trumps fear.

Well, I hope you'd stop by and at least visit my house on your travels. I'd make you cookies.

I'm that predictable, huh? You're totally right, my thirst for knowledge is my great motivator.

And of course I'd stop by to see you! I'd have a loooong list of places the Doctor would wind up taking me ... ;-)

Yeah, it took me a while to warm up to David Tennant as the Doctor, because I was a big Christopher Eccleston fan, too.

(Once he won me over, though, it was pretty much a total pwnage.) :)

I would go. But I'm relying on the fact that, to my knowledge, the Doctor has never let any of his companions die. I'm at a point in my life where I want to explore as much as possible without being suicidal. Or stupid. And while I'm sure many people would say that going with would be both, it'd be one of the most enlightening experience in my limited life.

And Ten is just too hot. David Tennet, I luff thy great powers of energy and fanboy that give us such a lovable Ten!

the Doctor has never let any of his companions die.

Yeah, that's a pretty important factor...and it might be the one thing that clinched it for me, if I ever did muster up the courage to go. Maybe it would be like going on a theme park ride - scary, but still with the knowledge that you're probably safe.

But then again, I absolutely freak out about spiders even when they can't possibly hurt me in any way...so I can't realistically see myself facing murderous aliens with any kind of dignity. Do I really want the Doctor to see me wet myself?

Yeah, I would have guessed your answer, too. You are pretty fearless in pursuit of what you value and I think the experience of seeing other times and cultures and worlds would be too high a prize for you to turn down. Then think of the books you would write about it all!!

You would make a totally kickass companion for the Doctor.

If I were single and had no responsibilities, yep, in a second. Right now? Nah- I coudln't leave Pete and the beastie behind. However, if the doctor showed up on our doorstep I'd be worried about whatever craziness he'd brought trailing behind him...

Yeah, being a parent gives you a different perspective on things, doesn't it? Maybe that plays a larger role in my reluctance to go than I am acknowledging.
