I wrote forty pages - more than I had written for anything in my life - and kept going back to revise those forty pages over and over again. I was stuck. Immobilized by my own fears and insecurities. How could I go on to finish a novel? I needed at least two hundred more pages! It seemed daunting and impossible.

I stopped working on the novel for six months

Hey! Get out of my head and stop reading my mind! :o)

I'm not dead-in-the-water with writting, but my 12 Cylinder engine is only running on 3 Cylinders.

I've just signed up for my 2nd Beginner's Writing Class. This one is also online, and through a local Community College. Even in the face of the Raging Bull, the Charging Tiger, the Stampeding Elephant and the sentiments of Job, when he said "I curse the day I was born", there is hope!

Wow. I love how Cindy stuck with it through such a long querying process, only to end up at auction.

It's also great to see an author use NaNoWriMo as a tool towards finishing their novel. That's an inspiration for longtime Nano-ers like me!

Cindy! (Sorry, Jim, I have no idea if this is allowed or even if it'll get through, but it's my chance to feedback!)

I love your book. I'm an Australian of Chinese descent who's always looking for Chinese heroes and heroines, and your book was a delightful read - simply written, yet descriptive and enjoyable, and every inch Chinese. I even gifted a copy to a several people.

Thanks for writing it and I'm glad to hear that Fury of the Phoenix is finally due out! Hopefully there'll be another young Asian woman on the cover again!

It's absolutely allowed, thanks! Some of the authors I feature on FBF stay and read the comments, but not all. I included a link to Cindy's LJ in my introduction, so you could also ping her there if you wanted.
