What is your favorite standalone novel you've read in the last year or so?

I'm trying to think whether I've read *any* standalones in the past year. Everything is series these days...

The only one I'm coming up with is Heaven's Bones, by Samantha Henderson. Very good book. I posted a review at http://jimhines.livejournal.com/419692.html

Thanks! I vaguely remembered reading the review when you originally posted it. I think I'll look for it. I've read all of one Ravenloft novel and it was by andpuff.
