Monday LOL Book

Aug 11, 2008 07:46

LOL books are heading to GenCon this week, and will likely be too exhausted to post anything next Monday. Sorry! (But do say hi if you're going to be at GenCon!) Previous LOL books are available at http://jimhines.livejournal.com/tag/lol.

Today's book is Daggers of Darkness [Amazon | Mysterious Galaxy], by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone. ( Read more... )

LOLarious indeed. As an aside, though, I'm kind of disturbed by that codpiece.

When you're whipping around a weapon like that flail, you want all the protection you can get.

I just found them last week, when I was browsing for potential LOL covers. There's enough to keep me busy for a long time :-)

I should do a contest. How many nasty ways can you count that this guy is about to meet his end?

Well, clearly he's already managed to take one eye out with the wacky flail, but he hasn't learned his lesson....

I remember some of the Fighting Fantasy (et al) books from my younger days, but I never saw this one.

"You see a man riding towards you, balancing on two tigers while swinging a flail. Do you A). die laughing or B).... wait, no, there is no other option...

I wish I could find a better scan that really showed his facial expression. I assume he's supposed to look scary, but when I look at the cover, I see a man about to wet himself.
