Didn't you do a caveman-style story for this one? I seem to remember you blogging about that, talking about finding an unusual angle when writing for themed anthologies.

All I am reminded of are my countless encounters in RPGs with Mimics, and in Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance on the XBox...

You know, I don't think any of my DMs have ever tossed a mimic at us. I fought them in Nethack all the time, but that's about it.

And now I feel like I should screen this thread, just in case my current DM reads my LiveJournal...

Yay, Terry Pratchett, unless I missed the reference and in that case I'll just think of it as a mimic. I got eaten by one of those last night in The Granstream Sage.
