Number 4 is in the bag, as I just finished Beloved by Toni Morrison yesterday. A very good and interesting read. It did momentarily lose and confuse me a couple times in the second "book" of it as it popped back and forth between characters and eras, but the book held me spellbound from cover to cover. Well, I got right into my third Pulitzer Prize winner , "The Mambo Kings Play Songs of Love" by Oscar Hijuelos , and I cannot say I was impressed or that I enjoyed myself much.

Well, I figured if I wanted to double my Pulitzer count quickly I needed only to choose a small book. Thus my second Pulitzer read : "The Old Man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemingway. I recently realized that despite loving to read, I had never read a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction winning novel (With the possible exception of "The Grapes of Wrath" , which I might have read in high school... though I sure do not remember any of it.). My how quickly more than a month has flown. Have not had a lot to say, and have not done a lot.

Dad is doing a bit better.

A few days back I had an extremely severe migraine. The vascular spasms alone lasted the best part of an hour. Not sure I ever recall one being so intense and long-lasting before. My head hurt for two days after.
