Jim knew the six months mark was coming up. Things had settled so much in the last few months, especially with Pam living with him now. Still, he felt like he hadn't been really appreciating her, especially with how patient she always was. He wanted that to change. This seemed like a perfect opportunity ( Read more... )

Pam hadn't been doing much, just finishing the shading on some things she'd sketched earlier, but she stopped when she heard Jim, already standing up to get things put away. "Yeah, I'll be right there," she called over her shoulder, and emerged a moment later, crossing to where he stood with a crooked smile that quickly turned into a surprised expression.

It became clear pretty quickly that Pam didn't think it was ridiculous at all. Her suspicions confirmed, she smiled broadly up at him as she reached out to take the flowers he handed her, rocking back a little on her heels.

"When you put it like that, I think I could go for some food," she replied teasingly, the prospect of eating clearly not the selling point for what he had asked of her. "Just give me a minute to get changed. You're kind of making me look under-dressed."

"I wouldn't care if you wore a shirt covered in paint," he said, obviously relaxing a little now that she said yes. She'd still be beautiful, without a doubt. He sat down on the bed, looking up at her. "But I can wait. We have the night off, too, so there's no rush. Karen's watching Sam."
