Pam was actually gone for a while. She ended up seeking Veronica out and talking to her for a bit. After that, she went back into the kitchen to eat her discarded food, surprised that it was still sitting there. When she cleaned up and put away the dishes, she realized Samantha was probably getting hungry and immediately felt horribly guilty for leaving like that.

Once she looked into the rec room and found it empty, she went back to their room. She stood just outside for a long time, trying to calm herself before walking inside.

Jim felt the dull ache of sitting too long in one spot, but he didn't want to move and disturb her. He just dealt with it, choosing her comfort over his, because it really wasn't that bad.

He closed his eyes, trying to relax. It didn't work well.

Pam opened the door slowly, peeking around the edge, almost hoping that they weren't here because she kind of wanted to just curl up and cry for a while. But, there they were.

His eyes opened at the sound of the door opening. He nearly sprang up, but remembered what he was holding the last second.

He didn't really know what to say, either. He was angry still she had walked out on him, because that wasn't how they were supposed to deal with problems. And, while he was relieved she was okay, his gaze shifted down to the baby in his arms soon afterwards.

If she wanted to talk, she could start it. He sure as hell wasn't going to, with how things turned out the last time he opened his mouth.
