That is so cool! I was contemplating getting the smoker out this week for something else, but maybe I'll throw some onions in too. Does "dry pears" imply "not juicy", do you think?

It is common to find reference to both dried apples and pears in the German recipes. Technically the word means "shriveled" and applies to both apples and pears (sliced maybe). I find it most often associated with pears so I chose that word here.
