The amusing, yet bitter truth about the Holiday season.

Found this in another LJ I was browsing...and how perfect it is. David Horsey is nothing short of brilliant! (It's no wonder he's won Pulitzer's for his work.)

From the Seattle PI, an interesting cartoon commentary on the Holidays:

Happy Merry Whatevermachrishanukwanzyuliversary, etc.Sad, but true, as I even brought this topic up myself a week ( Read more... )

gratuitous icon posting, evil people and their cults, opinionated, holidays, crazy world

Interesting commentary. I say, hey, if you want to celebrate, by all means say it however you believe it should be shared. I just think people are trying too hard to "neutralize" the whole intent of the Holiday, we don't do that with other cultures, so why suddenly are people jumping on Christmas? "OMFG you said CHRIST! Oh nooooesss!" It's kind of sad, it's deadening people's sentiments anymore. :@ (

Well, I can tell you are not one of those *bad* types, we all can believe how and in what we choose (which is why I don't follow along the Catholic route anymore, I didn't like the way things were done, and my personal beliefs just didn't feel right in that environment). It's the ones who go out of their way to say why you shouldn't, or that because they don't share those beliefs, nobody should have the right to "offend" their ears with such talk. They're the ones who ruin it. I can understand that some people have more of an Agnostic approach, but it's the whole respect for others differences that it really comes down to. I know and have known people from basically every type of organized religion or what have you (aside from the extremist types), and I am fascinated by all the different ways we basically share the same root beliefs. ^_^
