Yeaaahhhh! I SO need to make an icon of those "WTF?" stickers people have on their cars now. It's the "W" like he had in his campaign. So hilarious.

So, I got my christmas cards the other day, and I specifically got ones that didn't have the words "christmas" "Jesus" or "Santa" on 'em so that I could send them to anyone and not have to fret in the back of my head if I've just offended anyone. I sympathize with the president in sending his holiday cards and having to decide on what to include or not. He got slammed so much for being a religious nutjob that maybe this was an attempt at getting away from that image. Alas, it just pissed off the religious and he's still stuck with being a nutjob...

Yep. I bought some cards the other day I thought were really cute, but they just mention "Happy Holidays" in them. D'oh! But, I want people to have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, pleasant Kwanzaa, and all that too. It's just silly...all these little differences, making us who we are, yet, they just want to generalize everything as to not upset anyone. And I'm sure very few get upset at all! ^_^

What a sad world it will be if we become a "Happy General Whatever Blah Blah and Stuff". ;_;

My housemates are both Jewish, I am Catholic. So we have a Jewish and Catholic calendar hanging side by side in the dining room. Neither of us are offended by each other's views, heck one of them is getting us a Christmas tree since she's never gotten to decorate one!

So if we can coexist peacefully, why can't everyone else? (Though we've had to scold the calendars for bickering at night :) ).

It is very silly, isn't it? I know people of all faiths and beliefs, and never seen any of them take issue with other cultures, so this sudden jump on things that bother very few people (usually the Atheists, it seems) is just plain SILLY. One person's complaint shouldn't make everyone retreat and play "let's cover our ass". It's just...retarded!

I don't believe anyone has issue with others practicing their own beliefs, but who cares if a retail store or person would rather say "happy holidays" than "merry christmas"? There's no war on Christmas and to say the government is trying to ban religious beliefs is especially ridiculous in these days. There are still many Christians who are secularists and believe keeping all religion out of government is a good thing. Thomas Jefferson was a fine example of that... He stated there ought to be a wall built between church and state. That's not anything to fear... that keeps the government from enforcing beliefs, not the other way around. This country was formed in order to have that secular government.
