I was just informed by a US Post Office customer service person that the mail carriers "aren't allowed" to pick up mail from a mailbox if they don't have anything to deliver, and that's why my outgoing mail has been sitting for two days.

So meanwhile, my car insurance, water, and internet payments might be late because nobody is sending me things
