I've always said that I would never join a dating website. I didn't want any part of it... I thought it was weird, yadda yadda yadda. And for the past few years, even during the constant harassment and the threats that friends were just going to make an okstupid for me.. I still didn't join.

Online dating is ok. It worked for me but that doesn't necessarily transfer and expected success to your situation. I think to instantly write it off is counter-productive but if it ends up not working for you then that might just be how things are.

Also, I had messages from people I was definitely not interested in and I sent out some pretty dumb ones myself. So it wasn't that different from other social situations (like at a bar or a party or Geauga Lake). It's still a cross section of people from everyday life, so most of them you will not want to date. But online dating does speed up the process of 'meeting' people and weeding out the ones you are not interested in.

Plus, you're a doll(face) so there will be plenty of guys who are into you even if you're not into them.
