Get Out and Vote!

Tomorrow is election day for the Canadian federal election; the third in fours years or something ridiculous like that (thank you Stephen Harper, I hate you too).  What I can't get over is how few of the people I know in University are actually planning to vote.  Come on people!  It's not like it's that hard to get registered even if this isn't ( Read more... )

Truthfully, I don't think you necessarily have to like someone to elect them. Most politicians aren't 'nice people' no matter what they pretend. I think you have to ask yourself which candidate and which party you think would be the most benefitial for your country and your life.

I guess it's a bit different in Canada where we have more than two parties (even if generally only two of those end up in power) so we have more choices on voting day. Even so, you're not being asked to marry the guy you're voting for, so 'like' isn't really an issue. My advice would be to look past the person and look at what issues and ideas they're representing.
