So we went to see Airbender late sunday night, mostly because the air conditioning was worth the $20, if nothing else.

This movie was really bad, you guys. I don't even mean in a "They're pushing Suki back to Book 2 and pronounced some names differently" kind of way.

Oh my god I found that drawing on Tumblr and reblogged it with "EVERYTHING IN THIS PICTURE IS RIGHT"

I notice we had nearly identical complaints about a lot of stuff, even down to some of the phrasing we used. BECAUSE IT'S PRETTY EASY TO FIND WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THIS.

In Twilight, Jackson Rathbone is Jasper. He's basically a nothing character, and if you are a "nothing character" in something like Twilight, that's pretty much proof that you've never been required to use brain cells before, so....

The upsetting thing is that I really want to see Book 2 like right now. Because in order to actively fuck up the very essense of who and what Toph is, they would have to cast the memory of your dead childhood puppy or something.

No lie. I'm anxious to see if it's even possible to make Team Evil Hot Chicks suck that much.

Also I just read that io9 article out loud to my cousin (who went to see it with me) and she and I nearly pissed ourselves laughing. Brilliance.

Well... M Knight is still human. It's possible he could have a lethal heart attack before filming #2. :/ I'm disappointed and I haven't even seen this movie!

I think it was when I found out that Aasif Mandvi was going to be Zhao that I finally had to shut down and reboot. I fucking love him on the Daily Show, but as Zhao? ... Uh, no.

Also, That drawing is AWESOME. Got all the body language down right, but I especially love that Toph has a Big Gulp and is stealing Sokka's popcorn.

I'm starting to wonder if the Ember Island episode was prophetic.

The comic is so utterly true. This entire entry is so true, it's sad.

aw nuts. I was never the biggest Avatar fan, but I was sort of kind of rooting for this movie, even after the "why are all the characters white?" debacle.

I haven't had the chance to see it, but now I'm trying to decide if I should see this train wreck for myself. is it at least MST3K-able?

No. This movie isn't laughably bad, it's "this is so boring I'm going to cry" bad.
