*I thought I was going to see the City of Ember, but the more I see the trailer, the more retarded I think it looks. They tell you they're underground right in the trailer, way to ruin everything

Oh, you mean you're not supposed to know they were underground? O_o;

No. In the book, the people in the city didn't even know they were underground. It was just dark all the time. They just thought that's the way it always was. It isn't revealed until the very end, but the reader usually figures it out sooner. Still, it's not immediately obvious.
